Historical Background

Forest Lawn Cemetery was established in 1940. From 1948 onwards, it has been used by Doukhobors settled in the area. It is owned and managed by the Town of Creston. The cemetery is in very good condition.

Layout

The cemetery is approximately ten acres in size and is enclosed by a steel fence with an open gate. It is partially wooded. The cemetery contains over 3,800 interments (including 150 Doukhobor interments) interspersed throughout fifty blocks with rows facing east-west.

Driving Directions

To access the cemetery, travel approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Creston, British Columbia on Highway No. 3. Turn left (north) onto 36th Avenue North and continue for two blocks. The cemetery is on the right (east) side of the road. This cemetery is open to the public.
