Sion Frontage Road
This service road runs parallel to Highway 3 and provides access to homes set back from the highway. These homes mark the eastern boundary of the historic Sion settlement area. Sion was founded in 1909 as one of several Doukhobor colonies in the Boundary region. There, the Doukhobors planted extensive orchards and gardens, constructed 12 communal villages and established many commercial and industrial works. Following the demise of the CCUB, the Sion lands were eventually sold in 1961-1963. [49° 1' 9.77", -118° 29' 8.02"]
