Tambovka
In 1899, Doukhobors established the village of Tambovka (Тамбовка) near the Assiniboine River in the present Runnymede district of Saskatchewan. It was named after the village of Tambovka in Tiflis, Russia from whence they came. It was also known as Tambovskoye (Тамбовское) and Tambovo (Тамбово). It was abandoned by 1920 as villagers relocated to individual homesteads or to British Columbia. (1905 pop. 186) [SE/NE3-29-31-W1]
