Staro-Goreloye
In 1899, Doukhobors established the village of Goreloye (Горелое) along Good Spirit Lake in the present Buchanan district of Saskatchewan. It was named after the village of Novo-Goreloye in Elizavetpol, Russia from whence they came. In 1902, it was renamed Staro-Goreloye (Старо-Горелое) meaning “Old Goreloye”. It was abandoned by 1910 as villagers relocated to individual homesteads. (1905 pop. 51) [NE17-30-5-W2] [51.60117° N, -102.67015° W]
