The Doukhobor Gazetteer - Search Details
Veregin Lake
This lake is located north of Uranium City in northern Saskatchewan. It commemorates Sergeant Howard P. Veregin (1923-1944) of the Royal Canadian Air Force regiment who died in the Second World War. He was of Doukhobor descent and hailed from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The name was officially adopted May 6, 1954. [59° 54' 00" N - 108° 06' 00" W]
