Anastasia Siding
In 1927, the Canadian Pacific Railway built a siding alongside the village of Gospodniye Poseleniye in the Shouldice district of Alberta. It was named Anastasia after Anastasia F. Holuboff (1885-1965), the leader of the settlement on whose land it was built. The siding was a short track connected to the main track where steam locomotives could be serviced with water. A water tower was erected at the siding for this purpose. The nearby Wallace Spring supplied water to the village and the siding. The siding disappeared from the CPR operating timetable in 1959 following the advent of the diesel locomotive. [30-20-22-W4]
