The Doukhobor Gazetteer - Search Details
Yuba City Colony
In 1921, eight Doukhobors leased a 150-acre farm near Yuba City in Yuba County, California where they attempted to establish a communal colony. While it lasted, it was visited by local Molokans and lively philosophical discussions were a favorite leisure-time activity. The tiny colony was unable to sustain itself and was abandoned when the lease expired in 1924. [39° 8' N - 121° 36' W]
