Vasil'yevka
In 1921-1923, Doukhobors from Georgia established the village of Vasil’yevka (Васильевка) in the Tselina district of Rostov province, Russia. The village name is derived from the Russian men’s name Vasily and probably commemorates an early Doukhobor settler or leader. The Kolkhoz Imeni 16-go Parts'ezda ("16th Party Congress Collective Farm") was formed there in the 1930s, replaced by the Kolkhoz Imeni Lenina ("Lenin Collective Farm") in the 1960s. Today, the population is mixed Doukhobor and Orthodox Russian. [46° 38' 30" N - 40° 51' 6" E]
