Zibin Village
In 1909-1910, Community Doukhobors from Saskatchewan established a village on July Creek in the Spencer (Ubezhishche) district of British Columbia. It was known as Zibin Village or Zybino Selo (Зыбино Село) in Russian after the Zibin family of Doukhobors who lived there. The creek regularly flooded the village. For this reason, it was also known as Hollandia (Голандя) after the flood-prone country of Holland. As well, it was known as Sleepy Hollow. By 1961-1963, the CCUB lands were sold and the village was disbanded. It is the site of one of the last remaining communal houses.
