Peter Lordly Rock
This huge boulder is located at Saddle Lake four miles west of Grand Forks, British Columbia. It was a favorite place of Doukhobor leader Peter “Lordly” Verigin, who often stood on the rock to speak to the local Doukhobors gathered on the hillside below. In 1999, a commemorative plaque was placed at this historic site, which reads, “Here atop this Holy Rock on August 17, 1924, Peter Lordly Verigin gave his last lesson on morals and ethics to the children of the Community Doukhobors of Grand Forks”. [District Lot 24, Similkameen Division, Yale District] [49.02621° N, -118.50347° W]
